Demonstrations of Native American dance, drumming, arts & crafts.

For the 2nd year there will be two Native American processions from Swenson Plaza to the Pow Wow encampment on Saturday and Sunday! (see schedule for times)

Monday, September 6th - 10:00 AM
Location: River level on Riverfront near Locust Street.
Twelve competition classes for canoe enthusiasts of all types and skill levels to participate.
Registration - Saturday and Sunday during festival hours - Sunday 8:00 to 9:00 AM
THE FOURTH ANNUAL YOUTH STREET SOCCER TOURNAMENT
Monday, September 6th - 12:00 Noon
Location: State Street Sports Area between Front and Second Streets
Youth ages 7 to 18; Registrations starts at 11:30am
Co-sponsored by the City of Harrisburg & The JT Dorsey Foundation
Sanctioned by the Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League, with special program from US Youth Soccer.
Winner's trophies presented at 3:30 PM.

Location: Forster Street Sports Area
STREET CLOSURES: Front Street from Forster to Walnut Streets will close to vehicular traffic at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3rd, and will remain closed through the holiday. Front Street will reopen to traffic at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7th. The westernmost lane of South Front Street from Market to Paxton Streets will also be closed to traffic beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday to allow for the PSECU Artfest set-up. The standard detour routes to allow for Front Street closings will be in effect during these times.
PARKING: Some downtown meters may be bagged for festival vendors and artists, parking at all other city meters is free on weekends and the holiday. A fee is charged to park on City Island and the Harrisburg Parking Authority offers a $5.00 per day fee at the Market Square Garage at 2nd and Chestnut Street. SECURITY: The Mayor reminded all Kipona attendees that animals, backpacks, bicycles, skateboards, and portable sound systems are prohibited in the festival area throughout Riverfront Park and on City Island during the extended Holiday weekend. All packages and carryalls are subject to search by police for security purposes.
